Having cancelled idea of holidaying at Warren Park at Brean Sands on the 30th July ( site closed last weekend -waterlogged).
We find we need to travel to Worle nr Weston Super Mare (from Rhyl) for a family funeral on the Monday at 2pm. We're planning to travel on the Sunday stopping overnight at Days Inn Hotel Segemoor just 8.6mls from our destination.
In view of the bad weather and flooding whats the best way of checking whether it will be safe travelling on the M6 & M5? for Jly 29/30th.
Any advise appreciated.
Regards
Bob & Chris in sunny Rhyl

Hi Bob & Chris
I'm travelling in the opposite direction this Saturday, from Somerset to the Lake District.
I'm expecting no problems at the moment.
I haven't seen any news items that the M5 or M6 are blocked for the last few days.
Unless of course we have some more very heavy rain for long periods.

A good friend of mine is a lorry driver who travels up and down the M5 everynight, and he reports no problems at all, other than last Friday night. Infact he goes on holiday this weekend to Cornwall, and is expecting no problems.

I'm a lorry driver from near Birmingham and spend most of my time on the surrounding motorways. You should have no problems apart from Junction 10 to 8 due to the traffic, as one lane is still closed on the M6 / M5 sliproad. Only adds 15 mins to your journey. It can back upto Junction 11 if it get's bad. That's about it.
