My wife ,i and our young son of 3 are really new to caravanning, we bought an Elddis wisp for £2000 earlier this year my son really loves being away in the van, we are thinking of buying a Bailey Ranger 460/4 seems the best layout for us , any advice, are they good, do they hold their value, when is a good time to get a good pricd, any new models planned etc , do they become available on the secondhand market
we have had a bailey Ranger now for two years and have been very pleased with it, in fact we've just returned from a week away to-day. we have never had any bother with our Bailey, and this is our third Bailey caravan over the years, like all things you buy these days you do loose on depreciation, but you do on any caravan you buy, they tend to change the model about every 5 years or so, I always reckon its cheaper to buy them when the holidays are all finished, you may get a better deal, but not always, they can be bought second hand from Bailey dealers no problem, ebay, (but mind what your bidding for) and why not look whats on offer on this site in the adds section
We wish you well with your future.
------------- "PACESETTERS" German Shepherd dog display team, we are out and about raising money for guide dogs.
We've got a 460/4 and love it, we bought ours brand new last year and have used it about 8 times (total about 27 nights) since September. Our children are older, but your little one should be able to sleep on one of the front dinette seats without you needing to make the front bed up.(Although making up the front bed only takes a minute - its really easy and he would have loads of space).
We love the fixed bed as when on holiday I like to have an afternoon nap sometimes!
Its worth getting an awning to give a bit more space and to enable you to sit outside in the evening while your son sleeps.
