That is the sad part about it as snowy 747 says, someone will get hurt (financially) who can least afford it. I expect the sellers will want to be paid by PayPal too and then the said vans will suddenly vanish into thin air Zero feedback is always suspicious in these circumstances.
I await one of these scams eagerly, I have a basic bank account thats empty and ready to pay into and when it clears will whip the money out and hold it until the bank then says 1 month later that the cheques bounced. I'll then say sorry but YOU cleared it so you chase them for the money. Dont know if it'll work anybody know the rules if they clear a cheque who's responsible? Oh and has for the goods, I would see the obvious scam soI'd say i sent the goods but it must have been a false address you gave me...

Has anyone on here ever had a look at one of these caravans or are they all full of excused why you can't view at the moment, just send your money? You can see why people are thinking they are getting a bargain,

How do you know its a scam? I am looking at 260152977065 the one for £2,100.00. I have no interest in this just was being nosey.
I know nothing about caravans and I am afraid I would fall for this one. What gives it away. Sorry for being thick.
My caravan is almost the same , fixed bed 2004 model , i paid £9000 for mine about 4 months ago .
Other things you can spot that don't look quite right with the ad are , Zero feed back , newly registered , way to cheap , the location ( only need to say london once ) , it's a Classified Ad . If you spot any of these on ebay ads just beware . Golden rule No1 , view before you part with your money . Golden rule No2 , if it looks to good to be true it probably is .
If you are looking to buy a caravan and it is a bit further than you would like to travel for a look you can always ask on here, the chaps in the Fixed it Club are all over the country and if its in their area I am sure they will take a look and advise you of its condition. I have saved on time and money a couple of times now thanks to the great members on here who were just round the corner. If buying on Ebay then its best to ask if you are not sure about prices etc. just post the main details, where when what and price and most of us will have a good idea if it is not worth bothering with or genuine.
Totally agree that it is time Ebay got its house in order, used to be a great place to pick up a bargain, nowadays it is just too much hassle.
I have in the past done business on ebay without any bother and even bought my current caravan via ebay (after going to view it first and giving it a very thorough inspection).
However, the scammers seem to have realised how easy it is to run a scam with a caravan (as opposed to cars, in which the police are far more interested and which also need to be legally registered) and now, I would leave ebay well alone when parting with any substantial sum of money.

Looks like EBay are trying to clean up their act.
