I have a can of awning rail lubricant. It says on the tin it can be used for zips,locks and seals too. Smells like pure silicone spray and feels like it on the fingers too. No more expensive than a spray of silicone though. Some silicone sprays now include a fruity scent.

It's also branded as back to black or dashboard shine.

We have used wd-40 for a couple of years - what's going to happen to my awning ???
