Try looking at the ones used for small motorcaravans such as the VWs. as these will fit the lower awning rail.

It's tricky with poptop vans.

We wanted a canopy for our Freedom but had no luck due to the height. In the end we modified a tent canopy by adding an awning channel.  There is a photo in my gallery.

So if you find a drive away porch which suits you perhaps you can modify it yourself to fit better.

Hi Stevo

We have just joined this website, and also have a Fleurette Tamaris 38, we have found a porch awning being modified by Oakdene Caravans in  Dorset, try their website

www.campersandleisure.co.uk

We have put one on order, probably have to wait for them to get a few orders together before they send off for a batch. It's a modification on the Aspect awning.

Hi Stevo

Yes, that is the website, we ordered one of these awnings in August and paid a £20 deposit and are still waiting for them to manufacture it!!  But to be fair to them, they did say that they would have to wait until they got a reasonable number of orders to make it worthwhile, and we don't really need it until next year.

We used to have a 2 berth Fleurette Tamaris pop top caravan. We found both the SunnCamp Moto Motor Caravan awning and the SunnCamp Scenic Plus fitted it very well.

Hmm, My Fleurette awning rail is  1,890mm the scenic is designed for an a/r of between 230 & 245 cm. It definetly does not fit my van ! Also tried a Movelite (drive away type) but did not fit either.

The smaller Outdoor Revolution one - the Nomad - would be ok - fits heights up to 210 cms.

161

Sadly too low for my Freedom, otherwise this is the one I would have gone for.

The Moto is very similar to the Outdoor Revolution.

It has three options it can be freestanding, attached to the caravan by the awning channel or a pole which threads through the tunnel ( the bit that attaches the awning to the 'van) and lays in the channel left by the top when it is popped up, This was the option we found worked best and the first time we used it there were gale force winds blowing and ours was one of the few left standing!!

I can't remember the height of our Fleurette but it was the Sunncamp Scenic Plus that we used most as it was quicker to put up.

If I remember rightly it wasn't perfect but was all we could find at the time. Whatever we use has to be a reasonably good fit to keep the dogs in.

Glad to see several other pop top owners now on this site.

Think that I may place an order after the christmas holiday if I have any pennies left.

I have a Fleurette T31, with a awning rail fitted to top side of roof that is raised up ; the Awning l use is a Suncamp 220, works well when put up. Just buy awning rail cut to correct length screw on ,fit awning job don. Cheaper than having to pay out to have one made to fit. The original rail on van is there if l need it to put sun shade on.

We had a Trigano for 5 years. Mistakenly we bought a Sunncamp porch awning for motorhomes and it was terrible, took ages to put up and little room inside once you leave space for the door to open.

Eventually we bought a full awning. This was superb, lightweight fibreglass poles and a raised centre section made the whole awning usable. Took half the time to put up and take down. Bit expensive though, but worth looking for a second hand one. After 4 years ours was like new.
