can any one advise on peparing the outside of my van for winter,is there a type of "grease coating" i can put on ?

I can't help you there, as i never winter our van, we use it!... If you don't fancy winter camping i'm sure someone will give good advice on laying it up.

I wouldnt bother to put anything on it -if you are storing it outside just wash it every 3 weeks with car shampoo & hose it off------------- Every day should be a holiday!

yep its fenwicks overwinterizer for me too
used it last year and will be using it again this year, so simple to use and dead easy to clean off at the start of the season.
