Just pack up and tell Hubby you are all going - he will enjoy himself once you are away.

We caravan and camp every winter because that's the only time we get our holidays but this country has some fantastic places to see and they are not over busy during winter. Just wrap up warm and get out and about somewhere different. Quality time with the family - peace and quiet away from work and the phone and just being able to chill out is really good for everybody in the family.

Enjoy yourselves - you have mobile accomodation so use it.... We don't use the water system in winter though - we drain it all off and use water carriers instead then we don't have to worry about the system freezing up.

Persuade him at least to try it once, winter caravaning can be just as enjoyable if not more so!

We have had many a good winter weekend away as during the summer.

Plus it can be a poor excuse for a wander to a pub with a roaring fire and a nice pint!

If you enjoy it remember to change your gas to Propane if you haven't already and get booked onto some sites as these can get booked up months in advance but then again we went to Akebar once and were the only tourer on site!

We were at Moreton on the Marsh last summer and it is a lovely site, about a 5 minute walk from the town itself.

You must certainly try it once, what else would you have been doing sat at home, wandering aimlessly around a shopping centre or worse B&Q.

Why not have a weekend away, with a walk across deserted fields, maybe the glimpse of a wild animal, then later a walk to the pub with a roaring fire, a steaming hot plate of mince and dumplings for dinner and a pint or two of the local ale.

I know what I prefer!!

A big thanks to all who commented.

You have convinced my husband to try winter vanning - we are not going far only to Lincoln Farm, Standlake in November.  This site is lovely and I am sure we will have a great time - not far from home, but far enough away from the day to day routine...

Even though just on our doorstep - everytime we visit we could be miles away.  Until we got our van we didnt realise just how nice the area we live near is and had always tried to travel down to Devon or somewhere for our holiday - there is so much on our own doorstep that we are starting to enjoy now.

Cant wait to be all warm & cosy in the van with a nice bottle of wine or two...

Thanks again.

Kris
