Hi

The end of the slats that pull out to make the double bed up has snapped off, unfortunately the slats have now dropped behind the drawers and I cant find anyway to access it to try and repair it.  Is there a sensible way to pull the slats back out or do I need to remove the draws and break the shelf to access it. Its a 1993 compass raylle.

Thanks

the top drawer set should just lift off , usually they are just on slot brackets.

you should then be able to remove the screws from the board covering the slat housing , then pull the slats out and repair them.

thats how mine is built "avondale" but yours could be different.

but thre should be some sort of acces without breaking things.

We had a 1988 5-berth Monza.  The front bunk was the table located across the two settees.  Because the table top produced moisture under the mattress, I made and fitted a stowage unit, and slats for them to slide away.  For the slats I used 50mm wide Ramin, at a thickness to match the table top (something like 19 mm.

Ramin is a hardwood, and is knot-free.  We had the van for 5 years, and the slats never broke.

Bertie.
