Took my caravan for it's 2nd service at Barrons - (Now called Discover).. They had the caravan for a week and there is more wrong with itnow than before it went in. They have messed the blinds upat the front.  Basically one of the smaller windows blind wont stay down when shut and comes out of the plastic ends.  The caravan has to go back in now so I rang them up yesterday and because they are so busy they can't book me in until 15th December!!  Was not impressed.  Then I also had a second problem because I have alloy wheels I had togive them the key for this.  When I got in the van they key wasn't there so I rang them up.  They said it was and I didn't agree.  Now the van has to go in for this as well.  I am really annoyed about this because if I had a blow out on the way home I would have been screwed.  The service cost £200.00 and all I can see is for my money that the van had a good clean outside. Well I could have done that myself.  For the money I spent I could have gone away.  Thanks for nothing and now I have to take the caravan back in on the 15th December for the errors and mistakes they have caused.  Why do we have to go through this to get a booked stamped?

Anybody else had problems and can you get round not having your caravan serviceed, bearing in mind the warranty issue?

Its just poor quailty control aint it? you dont know if they did half the stuff that was supposed to be done, anyway. If its a new caravan & you have to take it to the main dealers to keep the warrannty up I supose you have little choice. with an older caravan I guess it would be better to get a mobile mechanic to come round & service the running gear then you could actually see him removing brake drums etc & do the interior yourself--Its what I do---as far as I can see many caravan main dealers see themselves in the buisness of selling 'vans the service is just an afterthought--

Hi

I reckon that when a problem occurs the service guy is more likely to be taken off your job than anything else that might be more pressing for the business (like pre delivery checks or minor tasks noticed by an alert customer picking up a new caravan).

Part of the problem is lack of continuity, part couldn't care less, part untrained and unmotivated staff. In the end it all comes back to p*ss poor management.

Have you communicated your dissatisfaction with this dealer to Swift?  It is their warranty you are trying to keep up.
