Hi as you know we no longer have the caravan but for both the side bed (in previous caravan) and the island bed I used ordinary fitted DB sheets with no probs.
I now do the same in the fixed bed MH.

We cut a double duvet and its cover to the same shape as the mattress to lie on and use a double sized duvet on top (summer/winter type which can be 4.5, 9 or 13.5 tog).
Normal sheets for us too. Why pay over the odds? Enjoy your new van when it comes. And on what you save on the sheets you can get a few extra bottles to celebrate in the new van
Hey Devon Dumpling you do exactly the same as us! We have a transverse bed and find it more comfy than our 'proper' bed at home! I love snuggling down under the duvet with the padded walls at the top and side to keep the edges soft. (We've a Sorento as well!)

Snug as bugs in a rug.

doesn't the bottom duvet move about when you're in bed or do you fasten it down somehow??? We used to use half of a double sleeping bag on top of our airbed when we used to tent and that used to move all over the place lol

May 13 - Cala Gogo, St Cyprien (didn't go, hubby too ill to travel)
May 14 Ranc Davaine
August 14 Les Sablons
August 13 - Camping Playa Brava, Pals
We use a mattress topper and put a fitted double sheet over it. That way, there's no need to tuck it down the sides of the mattress and in the morning you just shake it the same as you do with the duvet.
i have returned to this topic just to thank tyreman for his quilt/sheet idea on the fixed bed.did as you say bought a cheap quilt and used a cover we already had ,cut to mattress shape and used as bottom sheet.it worked a treat and so much easier to make bed.
We buy the fitted elasticated sheets for the bottom and then normal quilts. One of our singles has the corner rounded off, the other doesnt. Tescos do cheap fitted sheets.
