Hi All,

I have traded up from a tent at last. We took the plunge this weekend and bought an old caravan (thought it made sense to start with an old one) to learn to tow with.

However I would like to pick your brains, it's an Abi Monza 1600 4 berth, brown and orange coach stripes with gas lamps but these are now redundant and replaced with 12v/240v. Does anyone know what year these were finished I think it was late 70's or a another way of dating it.

It's dry and damp free but needs a really good clean, hopefully we can make it a little home from home and any details anyone has about it would be much appreciated.

Love the caravan but would like some more info on it.

only monza in my book 1982 1400s

says identification = ring ABI or a plate or stamp on the A frame of the chassis,first two digits give the year of manufacture

ABI = 01482 862976.

Thanks All I am going to the van today so will take a look.

I have read somewhere you can date it by the coach lines, gas lamps or windows (glass or plastic) but can't remember where.

I am sure once I have put my stamp on it age won't matter but not sure if I need it to insure, I am insurance mad and think it's worth insuring if not for me for others.
