Im thinking of getting a universal annex thing. The dorema one is silly money but of course zips in. I get, sort of how these fit into the awning, BUT how do they seal? Or do they? Anyone got one?

------------- we are getting a full zip in one at the weekend,if we do? ours will be for sale.only used twice.when you zip out the panel the universal one wraps round the poles on the top and sides on the inside.
I wouldn't bother buying one,I know they are much cheaper than the proper zip in ones made for specific awnings but they are lots of hassle to put up, don't seal as well and generally not great.
If you can buy one really cheap & want it as emergency/short term/summer use then maybe but we only used ours once then sold it on as we really didn't like it and as I said it was tricky to put up & attach to the main awning and not the best quality either.
Sorry to be so negative but I don't want anyone wasting money on one without knowing what they are like as the adverts make then sound great which is why we bought one!
Much better to try Ebay or Preloved for a second hand awning specific annex I would suggest.
I have a universal annex which looks identical to the images shown in Michael's reply. One day I will get the proper annex for my awning and I think if you can afford the genuine article you should get it but so far, the universal annex has been ok. The instructions weren't very good and I'm no expert and didn't find it too hard to put up. For summer use I thinks its more than adequate. Yes, it held to the main awning by straps and the seal it not fantastic but mine was tested by some severe downpours and the kids stayed dry. Very little water came into the awning through the seal, if anything.

yes its fine,no bother to put up,and as you say its stood some rain fall.SWMBO says she will feel more secure with a zip in type.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
We have the "UK Campsite universal Annexe" and have used it regulaly and have had no leakage problems! and we have found it good value for money and ours fits in our Tuscany Awning and they are dead easy to erect and the space that they save you inside the awning is well worth it, best of luck SeanP
