Ours works for digital (Freeview) TV, analogue TV, FM and AM.
Perhaps you should check your connections.

Also works fine on our TV, yeh check out your connections. I have only been on one site where reception was not up to scratch, but we were warned before hand that it had poor reception even with a mast mounted aerial

all I can say about tthe flying saucer is this, me pitched with status and amplifier total pants picture, papa pip on next pitch with a 10' normal aerial clear as a bell, great picture on digital. says it all. at home (very bad reception house aerial is approx 60' up) very little with status, watchable picture with the pole mount and as I said to the boss if I can get anything at home there should be no probs on site, at home I have tall buildings on 4 sides
hopefully it wont be £40 wasted
