hi, we are thinking about buying our first ever caravan and not sure what to by we have a laguna estate 1800cc petrol we have seen 2 vans .

one is sprite xl touring van

eccles 14ft topaz ci touring

any advice we be greatfully exceptded

the above site from Cathy is a very good one, and another giving kerbweights of cars is here - it also quotes an "85%" figure, which is the maximum recommended weight you should pull with the particular vehicle, indicating what van you should go for - this recommended weight is the MTPLM (weight of van when loaded).....

remember the mpg on your car will go down. when towing so if you get a van close to the max weight that you can tow then expect it. especially a petrol car!
