We have just took a seasonal pitch due to my illness i dont want to tow anymore it was a case of sell the van or try a seasonal, we got a cracking deal with 6 weeks free winter storeage so the van doesn't need to be brought home, we are a 5 min drive from the beach at Lytham ST Annes in Lancashire so looking forward to spending many hours at the van and on the beach .
We have a seasonal pitch in suffolk ,very near to our home ,if we want to pop out just for the day it is no problem, lovely walks for our boxer dog ,the owners are smashing we are all in our later years but have lots of fun ,so lovely just to open the van and everything you want is there ,we would be real stay at homes if we didnt have our pitch ,free electric tv points fresh water and fishing in a lovely lake ,what more could you ask for

Where is this site please? We are looking st that area at the moment.
We are new to our touring caravan we have been tenters for years but with regards to the op qustion we have best of both worlds we have sited our new to us tourer on a sit just outside of hull which may I add is beautiful and we have already took it away for a weekend to cleethorpes with friends. I doubt we will take it away again this year and ill stay on site as we have a few other trips planned with family one in tent an one in static but we will spend the rest of the weekends at the site! I nipped to the caravan this morning because i didnt start work until 11 and had forgot some tings at weekend it was so peaceful just sitting in the awing I almost called in sick to work ! this site has a bar and a giant park and my kids (4,7,7,and 9) love it they cant wait for the weekend to come around, even though theres no entertainment theres beautiful scenery and 2 lakes its like another world and only 15 mins away from the hustle and bustle of Hull where we live. The kids love good old fashioned home made fun its perfect for us !! so me I vote for both LOL !!
------------- Lifes not about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to CARAVAN in the rain !!!!!!!

Just a thought ... If you have a seasonal pitch does that mean you can't move the caravan ? Ours is kept in storage so pay for that anyway, so
did think if we got a seasonal pitch that would do winter storage we could may be move it off on the odd occasion .... Or does seasonal pitch mean you have to leave it there ? If you choose a pitch away from home it might mean that you can visit other areas that normally would be too far to go to for short breaks ..... Does that make sense :( ?
we move ours off when we want as long as we let them know our pitch costs a whole lot more than storage but i work ina school and my hubby works from home so weare very lucky in that we get a great dealof use out of our seasonal pitch !!! I suppose it depends n the site !!

We love our seasonal pitch, we get so much more use out of the van now as its only 45 mins away from home, we even go for the day sometimes if we can not stay over. The added advantage for us is my wife will go with the kids if I am working and there is no hassle of towing.
We can take ours off site when we want but choose not to, as our site is part of a group when you take a seasonal pitch you get 2 weeks free at any of there other sites if you wanted to tow
hi paul
had a static in wales for 10yrs loved it then went back to camping so we could try other places then bought a tt so my oh could have some comfort then moved on to an fc but because of shift work was limited to the weather so this year opted for a touring van which we sited love it just pull up and relax and if i get fed up can always move on which you cannot do with a static and i have been going to wales for 40yrs never get fed up you meet some nice folk along the way
