This is my first post in this section. We're seriously thinking of coming over to the caravan world after 3 seasons of tent camping. We love the space our tent affords but keep thinking that the convenience of a caravan would be great.
We've narrowed down our search and know that we need a 5 berth with seating/bed areas at each end with the kitchen and bathroom in the middle. We really like the new Ace Award Nightstar.
If we get one we will want an awning. However, it would appear that all of the awnings we've seen so far seem to have rather dated curtain designs rather than modern ones which would complement the interior of the new caravans. Can anyone please tell me if there are awnings out there that are a little more 'up to date' with their fittings as we don't really like the often garish patchwork curtains that seem to feature on most!

Hi
As someone else has mentioned - Isabella have some more contemporary designs, including two which have plain blinds instead of curtains. Some of their models with curtains are much plainer than others too, such as plain white or almost plain blue - The only downside being that they are the most expensive awnings on the market!
You can always make your own curtains, or not hang the curtains, or just do as everyone else does and put up with them! They are subject to fading (well, except for last summer!) and so the frighteningly busy patterns do cope with this much better than the plains.

Isabella Opus has white pleated blinds. Bit awkward to fit though. Only fitted them a couple of times so far so should get easier in time.------------- Debbie.

Hi we have just brought a BRADCOT" awning, in blue and grey, the curtains are very plain, which i liked, cream and beigh, very modern, I was like you didnt want them outrangerous colours! very very dated, but i do say the "Bradcot are much more modern!
The Bradcot web site dont show pictures of their new curtains, but i got a brochure from my local dealer, which was up to date! take a look very nice awning, and not so expensive as the "Isabella!
Good Luck

Try Inaca awnings. They are made in Spain, I think. We bought one because they are a bit different and have been very pleased with it.

Hi Everyone
thanks for the responses. These have given me food for thought. I like the Ventura ones - they seem a lot less fussy than many.
I suppose I need to get the caravan first!

Hi midge21
some of the inaca awnings have blinds on the outside so you could do away with the curtains altogether.(no more chinz)
