Hi,
we have just bought a 97 Lunar clubman and are very pleased with it but we have a problem with the water heater on gas.It works OK on electric but when we turn it on at the control panel the green light comes on and stays on, the igniter does not work and no gas at the burner. Can anyone please tell us if we are doing anything wrong or shed any light on what the fault could be?

Steve.

Is the gas tap turned on that feed the heater.  Should be 3 or 4 taps somewhere for cooker fridge etc.

Would of thought though that the green light would go out to indicate not working.  Ours is green but if gas goes out the light turns red.

If there is no gas supply then the green light will stay on but the amber light below it will also illuminate after a while.

The gas tap for ours is under the front seat near to the water heater beside the space heater gas tap.

I apologise in advance if I am trying to teach Granny to suck eggs but make sure that you give the gas time to run through the system to get rid of air and open the hot taps to let the water flow a while to get the water heater system primed.

BTW I have a 98 Clubman.

Carver Cascade I would expect?, No red light means a problem with the burner module, most common one when it's apparently dead, (especially after a long period without use), is the internal 1amp fuse has blown.
