looking for a little bit of advice.
On our first weekend away with new awning it was rather windy. The Pitch was Hardcore (I believe Gray Stones on top of dirt).
The problem I had is that my pegs kept coming out.
Never had this problem before.
The pegs I used were both the metal ones - (which look like big nails) and my plastic ones (kind of cross shaped cross section).
the end result was that one of the poles blew down - thankfully storm straps were on so stopped the awning blowing all over the van.

I have not got these, but they are very similar to the ones I have for use on hard standings. I havn't experienced any problems, but I'm sure the experts on here will confirm or otherwise.
I always use metal pegs as in johns link above and very rarely have any problem with them lifting out, I knock them in at a angled one to the left the next to the right and so on and find that this is better than knocking them in straight.
Hope you understand what I mean and it is of some help.
I use similar ones on hardstandings and they are a pain because by the time they've got to the earth below the stones there isn't a lot of peg left to grip into the earth below, they do pull out easily. I believe Rob Orr, the Delta Peg man, is currently looking at this problem.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
always remember to put pegs in at 45 degree angle? so the 'canvas' does not lift them out i use some heavy duty pegs for hard standing but on normal grass the pegs you describe should be ok pyramid-products.com do a thread peg for those that want two screw into the ground but just a quick thought with this type of peg what will be the weakest point? pegs wil be useless if they dont give and your canvass does!!!!!
