Does anyone use a driveaway awning, instead of the normal caravan awning. The seem much easier to erect. Do the site wardens think you are taking the mik? I have the option of borrowing one for my hol, and in view of the tussle with usual awning?

Cannot see any reason why you shouldnt. (someone will probably come along and tell you why not). I was thinking of trying this as I have just changed from a campervan back to a caravan. In the end I decided to go for a bit bigger awning than my driveaway one.

Regards

Robin

Hi geejay,we have an ABI caravan and found it a bit expensive to buy an awning for it as the roofs on the ABI's are a bit lower than the usua caravans. So bought a nr drive away campervan annex. It works fine and worked out a lot cheaper. We just thread the tunnel through the awning rail and make sure its tight.

it may be just me but i used my caravan awning for the first time at the weekend and found it so simple and easy to erect allright its only 13ft and has 4 zip out panels but it was a lot easier than the free standing motor château i have.i would expect next time to erect it in 20 min (thats two people with tent experiance)
have you tried one with all zip out panels.

Recently purchased a Movelite campervan awning for our Lunar Meteorite. The awning rail height on our van is 2.0 mtr which is lower than normal awning height. The Movelite fits easily and has enough room for a two berth inner bedroom.

We tried ours out recently and set it up in 15 minutes, much easier than our old porch awning and lots more room.
