Hi Wizard

These are the settings for my voltmeter:

Blue and black wires are linked together and are connected to negative battery.

Red and green are linked together, wired through a switch and connected to positive battery.

DIP switch settings

1, off        2, on      3, off      4, on     5, on

Good luck!

Incidentally, as wel as monitoring battery probably worth weighing gas bottle before and after.

Wizard

Can you link the meters to the battery to save having two sets of AA cells as well?

Ps feel free to email me , save posting on here so much .

Btw , checked the caravan battery today , and it's beginning to loose charge , so think it's on the way out ( it's 4 years old ) , haven't got spare dosh to buy one before the weekend so will have to see how it lasts .

Hi Martin , I think i've found the reason for the seperate power supply , i tested my amp meter in the week powering it with 8 AAA batterys , when i went away friday i had removed the batterys and powered it from the source being tested ie my caravan battery , as soon as i connected it, the display unit went pop and smoke pured from the box , woops  .

Well the weekend non electric test lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes till a flat battery ended it , i did think the battery was i need of replacement but was hoping for a little longer . We were running TV and sat box drawing 4.2amps from the battery , some of it via the inverter . Gas used thro the weekend was 1kg .
We've now bought a new 110amp battery so are going to have another go in mid August where we're away for a week .
