How do I remove the spare from the Alko Wheel Carrier? I got as far as taking the safety pin out, unscrewing the plastic nut and then I was stuck, I just couldn't see anything else happening.
I think you then just pull sincr the holder bars are telescopic and should just slide apart. You may need some wd40 if its been in place a while. Ive often thought putting it back msy be difficult.
When you have pulled it out, clean the inner shaft with some wire wool then smear Copperslip on the moving parts. One application should more or less last the 'vans life, ensuring that it will always slide out easily.
