Hi all. We have just committed to a 6 berth Corona 556, 2006 model! It's longer than I've towed before so a bit scary. Anyone have any experience / knowledge of the model? I've researched as far as poss and not seen disastrous reports about them? I'd love to hear from anyone who loves them - that would be reassuring!

Hi stjon.I bought the compass omega 524 2007 model.Like yourself I was a bit apprehensive about towing it for the fist time, but there was no need to worry. The winterhoof stabiliser does a great job and the brakes are very good also.As for the build quality I carnt fault that either. In all a good product,im very happy with mine.

Lovely to hear that thanx! Funny how you commit to something then start finding all the horror stories. I've been reading posts elsewhere this morning about someone who reckons they 'leak like a sieve'! I can only hope for every bad experience there are two good ones!

I think we just have to go with it - we've fallen in love now! Must admit I've been pricing up a motor mover - I must be a wimp!

Ive had a motor mover fitted best thing ive ever done with a caravan. Its rather tight getting the van up the drive to the back of the house and it makes the job so much easier. As for leaking you will allways find someone has had a problem no mater what make and model. They come with 5 year water ingress warranty so no worries.Enjoy your van.have fun.

In our caravan club  formerly the Magnum owners club  we had a few members with Mendip Magnum 556's which were based on the Compass 556.

The only problems anyone had were the fixed bulkhead gas regulators[common fault for many vans a couple of years ago] and problems with the rear "garage door" leaking around its seal.

Incidentally due to the demise of the Magnum brand the club is now the Magnum camping and caravan club open to all makes of van, tents etc etc.Anyone interested please feel free to contact me.

We got the Compass and used it for the first time last week! We love it - so much space!! And our daughter loves the fixed bunk bed in the rear. We are having a Powermover fitted on Monday though - it took 4 men to get it out of the servicing garage when we picked it up!

Just gotta get that damn satellite TV sorted now - gave up after 2 hours standing in the rain...

I have a Magnum 556, and had the issue of a leak around the garage door.  A modified door was fitted with two locks istead of one and have had no problems with water ingress ever since.

I have to date not seen another van to match the feeling of space you get inside a 556.  That was the selling point for us.
