Hi all, just been looking on the net at a Silverline Silvercrest van. They are only 6'6" wide. have you got/had one? Do you find the narrowness restricting in them? Whats your opinion on them please.
Cheers
Woody

hi woody,
we got one 3 months ago, brill,no damp every thing works as it should.the person we bought it off really looked after it,all we did was put some new curtains and a carpet(only because we did'nt like colour).being a complete beginner i even paid 44 pounds for stick on mirrors then found out i do not need them.with a awning it is plenty large enough for us.it is so easy to manhandle i can spin it round on my own, indeed my wife and i can pull it by hand up our gravel drive (a slope of 3 ft in 20 ft) easily.tows very well, we love it to bits, great.
best regards jim&sam

Ours isn't a Silverline, it's an ABI Adventurer, but it is narrower than standard caravans, although I don't recall off the top of my head what the width is.  Our van needs to be narrow to fit on our drive.  We don't find it restrictive at all but I guess it depends what you're used to.  Our previous caravan was a Freedom Microlite so the Adventurer feels cavernous to us.

The advantage comes when you get completely lost in France and end up driving down little narrow cobbled streeets in a one way system with road works to get past - boy was I glad it was a narrow van then!

Ours is a Silverline Silvercrest 12/2GT, we love it to bits, it tows like a dream and we don't feel cramped in it at all and I am on the larger side of large!.  No damp issues with ours either, it was a one owner van from new (1989) until we bought it 4 seasons ago.
