Sorry if this is'nt the right place to ask this, but if anyone knows Jo & John Bishop from Sheffield who were in Somerset at the Old Oaks Caravan Park the week of the 21st July & who have turned both Karen and myself into 'Hendersons Relish' addicts please could you point them to this message, we never got their number or address & would dearly like to get in contact again.
Not another 'Henderson's' addict. My brother in law moved back up here to Yorkshire and is disgusted that our local supermarkets don't sell it. Apparently it's a Sheffield thing. As he's from there, I'll mention the names to him just in case! (What sort of age were Jo and John?)
I am sure if you write a nice letter to the Old Oaks and enclose a letter for John and Jo they will put the address on it for you? No breach of data protection as they won't have given you their address.
Re Morrisons and Hendersons - that's just the problem, our local Morrisons DOESN'T sell Hendersons - apparently it's classed as just a local South Yorkshire/North Nottinghamshire product - and sold only in those areas. I haven't tried it, but he grew up on it, and swears by it!
Henderson's Relish is a spicy and fruitycondiment, similar in many respects to Worcestershire sauce, but as it contains no anchovies it is considered a vegetarian alternative. Produced in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, some adherents favour it out of regional loyalty as much as taste. The product's slogan is "Made In Sheffield For Over a 100 Years". It is essentially made of water, sugar and spirit vinegar with a selection of spices and colouring. It can be found in local fish and chip shops and almost every supermarket and grocers in the city, yet is almost unavailable anywhere outside of South Yorkshire (although it can now be ordered online in multiples of a litre).
The singer/songwriter Richard Hawley used specially-labelled bottles of Henderson's Relish to promote his 2005 album 'Coles Corner'. Also on his 2007 autumn tour special bottles of the relish were available to promote current album Lady's Bridge. The bottles of relish cost £1.50, with fans generally having to purchase them after the show, due to glass bottles being banned from most auditoriums.
The Hendersons factory is located adjacent to the University Supertram stop, on Leavygreave Road.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
