how long has it been on for? mine takes alot longer on gas to get cool, nearly an hour to een seem any colder on the plate check the ice box, put your hand in the plate and it should be cold.
check that its actually lit, not knowing your fridge, either through the spy glass in the bottom, or put your hand over the flue outside the van, it should be warm.

Even on gas, the fridge will not work if your battery is not charged.  I had a charger failure, resulting in a flat battery and even though connected to the mains, the fridge (and other things) would not work.

If you are trying to cool it on 12 volts then forget it. The 12 volts will just about keep a cold fridge cold, but will not actually cool it. Also for it to run on 12 volts the van needs to be connected to the 12 S on the car and the engine running.

Thanks for all your suggestions ! the vent outside the van is warm and the ice bx is the same temp as outside  ! The van is nearly leval but the fridge has always worked when at this leval (on the drive) before Everything ie battery wise seems to work ? Could it have something to do with a faulty thermostat ?? !

The first thing I would do is see if the the fridge will work on mains if you can connect it to a hook up.  If it works then you need to look at the gas side if it doesn't work then maybe it is more serious.

Assuming it either works on 230v or you can't connect it up then I would try cleaning the flue.  A few weeks ago this happend to us one weekend fridge worked fine next weekend fridge lit but didn't cool at all.  I took the top vent off  removed the metal spiral baffle from the flue and used a goose feather gaffer taped to kebab stick as a cleaning brush next thing fridge worked I believe spiders and other bugs can take up residence in the flue tube causing problems but I would try the above you might be lucky like I was
