Does anybody have a Bailey Discovery.

We have a tent and are thinking of going back to getting a caravan but the not so expensive ones.

Are these caravans any good?

Please help

Thanks

You would be better going for the Bailey Ranger - they are not much more money but the spec is much better. There are also more layouts to choose from.

We bought our discovery 400 2 years ago. The layout sold it to us as it's one of the few vans about with 3 single bunks at the rear and the door at the front which meant we aren't passing immediately past the kids at night going in and out. It was a fair bit cheaper than the rangers and this is reflected in it not being as nicely finished as the dearer vans though i suspect it also makes it a bit lighter which is handy when towing.

The only problems we've had have been cracking in the plastic body (replaced under warranty and a problem with a number of baileys made round the same time across the range) and 2 cupboard handels have broken (we'll replace them with nicer & better quality ones over winter)

I'd buy another one if i had the money.

I had one for 5 years and loved it to bits and didn't lose too much on it when I sold it so I would say go for it. Reminds me must change my profile!

Has anybody got a 2008 model, because these are supposed to now have an oven,so it seems to have the essential items you need, just need to find a dealer who has one in stock to look at.

We have a 2004 Discovery 400, excellent value for money. I have added a bit to the spec to make it more useable, but never felt the need to add an oven. The cadac or combo microwave fulfills that role.

Bed sizes and layout were the main selling points along with the price.

Mine will be for sale later this year or early next. Daddy wants a fixed bed!
