I have noticed that my van has several stone chips on the front (some quite deep), which have obviously been caused by my tow vehicle. I have a Ford Focus C-Max Ghia that has fitted front and rear mud flaps. I have searched this site and others but have not found anyone else reporting such a problem. It may be that I was just unlucky to go through an area of road that had loose gravel on it althought this occured on a motorway run. I would like to take some precaution to prevent this happening again. I have contacted Ford re longer mud flaps but to no avail. So short of trying to lengthen those already fitted I'm stuck

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm no expert but only repeating advice found on this forum. If Ford have a 4x4 that has longer rear mudflaps then use them. Use your own back mudflaps as a template to drill holes if they don't match. Affix both mud flaps to back onto your car and hopefully problem solved.
