Eyelets and suckers. That was the way we did it 30 years ago and  its the best way.  The velgro stickers are ok but they soon get discoloured and yukky.  The peeps who had our before us used that method  and we struggled to get them off. Self adhesive ones come unglued when the weather is warm and then you have a sticky mess.

Don't know where I'm going but will be happy when I get there.

Excellent - the eyelets and suckers option sounds exactly like what we need - and so simple too!

I did wonder what the figure of 8 plastic thing was for that came with the awning - but the instructions were not exactly comprehensive (to say the least!) so we'll be able to use that to join the wheel part to the bigger skirt too.

I knew this was the right place to come for help!

Thanks everyone.

You could try putting emergency eylets into the skirt, then use suction cups with an inbuilt hook on them to attach to the van, then just hook the skirt eyelets onto them.

Great idea , if anyone has a picture they can send me of this, i'll post it on my website here .

We use heavy duty velco (white) 3 little squares does the job and it has never come unstuck or started to look unsightly, I have to say though if I had thought of the sucker method I would have done that :-)

What are your solutions for attaching the extra bit of draught skirt for the awning that covers the caravan wheel?

We have a new caravan and we don't want to screw anything into the sides to attached the poppers or glue anything either if that's possible.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Our wheel draught skirt is supported by a piece of 6mm plywood, half-moon panel, which is profiled to locate inside the wheel arch.  Three 6mm plywood pads are fixed to the profile so that they rest inside the lip of the wheelarch.  Then there are 3 stailess steel screws fixed held in the panel by nyloc nuts. To locate on each of these are screws is a flat piece of uPVC with a distance block at one end, and a felt pad at the other. A plastic, threade knob is used to clamp the felt pad onto the wheel arch lip.   A piece of plastic double rail is fixed to the panel, so as to align with the caravan skirt rail.  The panel is white-painted finish.

This panel holds to skirt securely across the arch, and leaves no marks on the caravan when removed.

Sorry I have had to write this, as I have been totally unsuccessful in transferring pictures to the forum.  Hope the info is of some help.

Bertie.

We use Velcro pads, it leaves 4 small black squares on the van which don't really show much. They could be pulled off and residue cleaned off if required. You might be able to get white coloured ones too.
We've got two small white velcro suares stuck on our van, the other two squares are sewn on the wheel cover.
