We're thinking about buying an older caravan, as we were rather flooded in our tent in the summer!  We know very little about caravans, so any tips on what to look for when buying would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

One of the most important things that you will read about on here is the dreaded damp so it is really important to either get a damp meter to test for yourself or when you do see a van you like make sure it has a current damp check in writing.

I would say don't be dazzled by a lovely interior and forget what it could be hiding, look at a lot and don't fall for the salesmans patter, remember a reputable place won't do the heavy sell.

There are a lot of vans out there so it's a buyers market, good luck and hope you get one to suit you.

Have a look here to give you an idea of what you could get.  http://www.caravanfinder.co.uk/
