Has anyone got one of these and what do you think of them. Bought a new van few weeks ago and as it is just over 26 foot long don't really want a full size awning, but like the look of the Magnun as a porch for longer than a weekend can be a little small and like the size of this Isabella in the brochures
To me it is the perfect size for an awning, plus it allows you to keep all the light from the windows inthe caravan. Sadly it is about 20cm too long for my van, it would come down part way along one of the front windows otherwise I would have one like a shot.
I really liked this awning and wanted one for my abbey gts but it would have covered one of my windows so we were unable to have it . I ended up with the Isabella Opus which is full size and bought a cheapie suncamp for weekend use.
As with all Isabella products it is of superb quality.
The only downside as with all "super porch" awnings is the amount of poles required to erect it. It does not go up in a few minutes and requires careful erection and pegging out to achieve a good fit against the van sides etc.
We do not use ours for weekend trips because of the time required to erect it.
A full awning can be erected in quicker time, but if you are prepared for this the quality of the product speaks for itself.
We have a Magnum and use it instead of our full awning. It takes about 35 mins to put up with both of us doing it. Make sure its fits your van by not going over the windows. Quality is what you would expect and the space is more than enough. We dont bother with it for a weekend though and just use our sunncamp.
We had quite a bit knocked off at the show a few years ago!
Got to agree with the comments above-we love ours. It does take more or less as long to put up as a full awning but not as long to peg down! It is also easier to dry than a full awning so we tend to use it "off season" & the full awning in summer. It is a good size for a porch awning- last February we squeezed 7 of us into it for a BBQ when it was -8!! But for 4 it is a good comfy size. & 2 can spread out in recliners. Paid £670 for it last october at Barrons- asked at show last year & it was £700. Not seen it any cheaper, but someone on here may have. We used to have a lightweight tunnel style awning but in high winds it was tapping the side of the van where the end poles met the van & ever so slightly dinted it so we didn't fancy risking damage by sticking with it, saw the magnum & wanted it badly. What's the world coming to I used to "desire" mountain bikes, cars & motor bikes-now I get excited at the thought of a new awning??

P.S if you ask on the Isabella stand-I think they can tell you if it will fit your model of caravan without being on a window.
We have had a magnum awning for about 5 years - on the van we have now it goes over one of the windows but it is not problem as we just put some soft padding between the window and awning. Good size - plenty of room when we need it without being massive. Big enough for us and two young grandchildren to eat in with still room for their various toys. Fits very well against the van, has stood up to gales and storms and heaving snow with not a tremor. Typical Isabella quality. We have the carbon fibre poles which are relatively light but strong enough to stand up to snow on the roof.
In agreement with previous comments, we purchased a 2003 Ace Jubilee Statesman as a 2nd hand van, it came with an Isabella Magnum (both in excellent condition by the way). The awning great, usual good quality etc but wherever you tried to place it on this van it hit a window. I did wonder whether the guy who bought it didn't factor this in when choosing this particular awning. I also realised pretty quickly that my brother could get his full size Bradcott up a lot easier and quicker than we could erect the Magnum.
As we'd swopped from a motor home and quite a small free standing awning the magnum seemed huge at first but I was soon eyeing the full size versions with envy so we took the plunge and decided to go for it. Only problem being having become accustomed to the quality of an Isabella awning with the light carbon poles I didn't want any other make. On the plus side these versatile awnings are quite popular and we managed to part ex it with a dealer against a new Capri Lux which is great. If only I could solve the arguement with the other half every time we put it up and take it down come to that, he's okay once that jobs done but anybody would think I'm asking him to build me a house not put up a few poles, so mardy !! lol
