If they were at all serious about being "green" the thick alloy sheet would be the first thing to go. It requires so much energy to smelt; a woven cane or palm leaf shell then? Post last edited on 12/01/2009 15:16:14

It's not green at all, my caravan is more eco-friendly than that one could ever be. It would need a big powerful car to tow it.------------- Caz

Its about as green as a can of used oil, its been shipped from the USofA & it needs a 4x4 to tow it.
Green is to build your own shelter & eat hedgehogs, bit like Ray Mears. Ya know it makes sense, Rex & its spelt K-a-r-s-t-e-n not Kaston.

Hi - This van was on display at the NEC in October last year, The photos don't do it justice it was different to any caravan I been in. Wood burning stove in a caravan great, the solar cells did not look like an add on. It had a lovely feel.
I agree with your observations about the sustainability of aluminium, however they reckon 90% of airstreams that have been built still exist, that must be positive for the enviromental agenda.
I'm feel it there to challenge present caravan design, and there are ideas that we can use, so lets not be too quick to dismiss something different.

I dont think we could afford to tow this
we tow our caravan with a nissan primera how enviromentily friendly would it be if we had to invest in a much larger engine size to tow this,I could see the biggest part of the holiday cost going on just covering the petrol cost.
