Apparently Avon SSS (skin so soft) in the pink bottle is excellent for midges

I'm starting to think to work over 2 x 3-4 week trips

The first will be in May this year, outside of school holidays & hopefully miss the bigger crowds & midges.

From next year we will be dictated by School holidays.

Bearing this in mind & the feedback i'm getting, i'm thinking the West side & incorporating the far North in some way as favourable this year. Hopefully miss most the crowds & some of the midges.

Then hopefully a 2nd trip next year to the quieter (during peak season) & less midges East Side during the school holidays 2010.

I'm currently leaning towards heading straight for

Maragowan C&C Site at Killin (Loch Lomond) for 6nights.
then up to
Dalchalm Caravan Club Site at Brora for 3or4 nights & see the far North
then down & across to
Morvich C&C Site at Shiel Bridge for 6 nights
then down to
North Ledaig C&C Site at Oban for 6nights
then
Then a stop off on way home

That sounds good but 1. Maragowan is a CC site on Loch Tay not Lomond,2.  would substitute  Bunree CC. for North Ledaig CC site,  a good stop off on way home would be Edinburgh CC. site, but its your holiday whichever you chose enjoy! ps a great Family pub just 75 yards from the gate of Killin CC site good grub and entertainment at w/end.

Can't agree there jjim.  North Ledaig is a lovely site with gorgeous views out to the isles and much more to see and do in Oban than around Bunree.

Linwater is where we go if near Edinburgh.  Not a C.C. site but the cleanest and friendliest I have ever been on.  They have showers just like you have at home!
