Hi, I am in the process of purchasing a van and would like your comments please.
One of our holiday guests has a walking disability and has moving impairment. This means we will require a van than has easy toilet access. I have looked at some models that have the toilet at the side of a fixed double bed, but cant imagine the toilet facility being large enough. Can anyone with similar needs comment please, or alternatively advise on model that has roomy access. I prefer Bailey and was considering Pageant 6 /7 series.
Thanks so much

I would agree that the side toilet is unsuitable. For ample space and easy access you will need one with a bathroom across the back. Pageant 7, Champagne, Sancerre, Limousin or Ardennes. Have a look at their website for layouts. The choice depends on number of berths and number of axles, fixed bed etc. We have a Swift Group van which we are very pleased with.
I have mobility issues and for the last nine years have had caravans with the full width bathroom etc at the rear. First I had an Elddis Typhoon and currently I have an Elddis Avante 482.
Speaking from personal experience, I would not entertain a caravan with any other configuration.
We had a van with fixed bed and side toilet but to be honest it was a tight squeeze. Now we have just gone for the new Bailey which has fixed bed and a rear washroom. So much better and still only a single axel. Check them out they now have two models, sancerre and the california.
