I have just had a quote for my Caravan total value £10k which includes van, motor mover, awning, equipment, contents etc. and 120 days in Europe. £100 Accident excess and £250 Fire, Theft etc excess. Premium quoted £128 this includes a £20 Brokers fee [Adrian Flux] Policy with Equity Red Star.
A net premium of £108 to cover £10k seems very cheap. The other quotes have been from £160 up to £250 [CC £219]
It does seem cheap. You'll never know what it's like until you have to claim! So hopefully never!
Personally I just pay the CC because I know from experience that they are brilliant if there is a claim. I do check the premium each year - my set up is like yours in value etc and last month I couldn't get a policy below £190.
we are with Adrian Flux never had any problem with them, we had one a claim a couple of years back but they dealt with with no hassle or problem. you seem to have been given a good price, its less than I pay, and my total value is less than 10 k.
------------- "PACESETTERS" German Shepherd dog display team, we are out and about raising money for guide dogs.
Yes - quite an old well-established insurer - my first ever car insurance was with them in 1970. They mainly underwrite for people like the AA, CC car insurance is sometimes with them. Somebody ran into the back of me a few years ago and they sorted everything rreally quickly and allowed me to choose the repairer.
Yep I work for a brokerage although as an IFA not insurance clerk and it is a name I hear from time to time. They have been around for years, like Jaiash says they were often heard of in the seventies and eighties in fact I probably had car insurance with them at one stage.
It all depends what cover you want. Last year, we dropped a bottle from a top locker and it dented the kitchen worktop. This would have cost £500 to replace. It was covered on our insurance (CC) with no excess.
That's why the CC policies cost more - they are very comprehensive and include accidental damage.
