Hi
Can someone help please, we have just collected the new awning for our van and i have noticed there are no press studs fitted to the van for the draft skirt. How do I fit these. Is it a case of just drill and screw on with a bit of sealant or is it more complicated.

I would get some suck on suckers, they may fall off a couple of time. But atleast you do not have to drill the side of the caravan.

We used three plastic eyelets punched through the wheel cover bit and three plastic suction type cup holders from Wilkinsons. Cheap and effective.

We used small square velco pads, they can be peeled off at a later date. They are white so quite unobtrusive. I did not want to drill holes!------------- DS-There's more to life than football!!!

Hi.
I have fitted press studs for the wheel arch cover on 9 different vans, and
had no trouble whatsoever. Just make sure to put plenty of mastic behind
the stud, and the screw.
I use an Oboe nail to JUST pierce the caravan skin, this ensures the screw
will tighten properly. One thing they never come of, or come loose.
But hey! Each to there own????
Cheers.

Didn't Bailey launch a product a year or two back, which was a specific wheel arch cover for their vans - around £50 ? I seem to recall reading about them a while ago. I don't remember if they were for protecting tyres from UV exposure or for use as draught exclusion.
Has anyone tried out the wheel arch 'kit' that Isabella do - containing studs and (epoxy?) glue? We have gone as far as buying it, but haven't dared to stick it on yet!
Up until now, we have been using an estate agent's corrugated 'for sale's sign, cut to shape and tucked into the wheel arch behind the long draft skirt, (plain white side out). It isn't great, but is better than nothing.

We had these on our old van and they eventually came unstuck and left ugly marks on the van. I think suckers on te new van are the way forward!!------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,
