This has already been on, was interesting but could have showed more up to date vans and families toward the end.------------- Jan:Braids Gretna, Feb Stanwix Park Silloth & Braids Gretna,

This was on BBC4 a month or two ago. Mostly old people reminising about their caravanning in the 60's and 70's. Very little mention of what caravanning with a family is like today. Only worth watching if there is nothing better on at the time!

Rather feeble minded to call it crap .... it was supposed to be a look at the history of caravanning in this country and as such it was very good!
Just a sign of modern times I suppose .... if you can't play it on a games gizmo or you can't phone in and vote for it, it must be crap. Shame if you are only capable of appreciating television for the brain dead!

I totally agree. It wasnt supposed to be about modern caravanning. How rude to call it 'crap unless you are over 70'

I'd disagree that it was "crap" - but it did appear to be part one of a two part series which was never finished. As a look at the history of caravanning in Britain it was good as far as it went, but the story needs bringing up to date. ------------- * You never know where you're going 'til you get there...

Ah well, I am 61. I remember a neighbour had a caravan back in the 50s and I could swear it was made out of ping pong ball sort of material and was half maroon and half either white or pale green, I wonder whether there will be one like it on the programme.

Crap to me as it was billed as a history, so whilst I enjoyed the old vans and the ethos and stuff, I was expecting some form of zoom to modern day vanning - which never happened. So as a history of vanning it was crap. My opinion that's all - put your zimmers down and chill.. JOKE!!!------------- *:)
