Last week when trying to get in caravan could not lock or unlock it. Messed with it a bit and finally got in OH sprayed WD on key and lock and now its ok ish!! Rang dealer and they say they need it back.........had loads of problems
We are off to sunny Hunstanton on Sat would you leave the van unlocked for the journey and stay???????????

It's up to you but if you are like us you lock up only to come back to your 'van and discover that you have accidently left a window open or someone comes back from the swimming pool, realises that the others have the key so undoes the window that has been left on the catch. On our caravan you can lock the bottom part of the door from the inside which might be a good idea for you to do when travelling.
hi if it is searles your going to we have always found it very safe, go buy a flemma door bar, it helps you in and out of the van and it also acts as a security bar when locked, ours is fixed so it goes over the lock,they are about £45-£50 easy to fit,then you wont be worried about your caravan door,hope this helps you,have a great time.

We had problems with our lock on our van when we first had it. Took it off and lubricated it. I put it back but did not tighten up the screws as tight as they were. Never had anymore trouble.
It is often quicker and better to do the job yourself than take it back to the dealer who will only do the same.
Ask the dealer what you can do so you can use your van, it's bad news that they can't do something to fit a quick job in & get you on your way with a good usable lock.
