Hi, we are new to caravan trips and have just bought an old caravan for our first holiday. I have hooked everything up and tested that it all works but i am having trouble with my oven. It is a "MAXOL MONTE CARLO" Oven,there is only one knob on the front which states high,medium,low,there doesnt appear to be an igniter. when i open the door there is a little red button but nothing happens when i press it,i think it is a safety valve so that gas can not be leaked if the oven door is open. if i am correnct then how on earth do i ignite my oven.....please help

Hi, we have a Maxol 3000 model in our caravan, we have to press in the knob to ignition position and then light with a match, keep control knob pressed for 20 seconds and then it will stay alight.  Our oven will also not light unless the glass hob cover is up.

Hi Janette , if you have a copy of the manual would it be possible for you to scan and email me a copy please , i collect caravan related manuals so i can pass them on to other caravaners that need them ( i do this for free , just like to help others if i can ) .

Hi Mr / Mrs Fenton,

Saw your entry about the oven - we have bought a van with the same problem, no ignition button and cannot light the oven, previous seller says it was working and to press the igntion button ! Have tried to hold in the orange hi/med/low button and use a BBQ lighter inside the oven, but no joy !!

Did you get a resolve and get a it working ?

Hi Wizard,

Do you have any idea how I can light my oven - Maxol, Monte Carlo ! - has an orange dial for hi / med / low, but no ignitor that I know of !

Tried to hold in the dial and ligh with BBQ lighter, but no joy !

Any idea.
