Hi,
After being offered a silly low price for our van by a dealer, we decided to sell it privately. We pitched our price over £1000 less than a similar van on sale at the dealers (but more than he offered)
We have advertised it on UKCS, Practical Caravan and Freeads.
We have photos on our ad. but I really dont know how to do it on UKCS. I really must try and find out sometime! (suffer from Technaphobia)
I think it worth trying to sell privately as I still like to think there is a deal to be done without part ex.

Another way is to approach a private car sales garage and ask them to sell it. You can either agree a percentage or a fixed fee for them. percentage would be my preffered method as that way they have to get the highest asking price as that nets them more money.
You just need to sort out a contract with them. Things like, you to be present at the time of sale. No sob stories about PX's. Full payment at time os sale.
Dependant on how much trust, if any, you have in second hand car sales men will influence your attitude to risk. Theb benefits of doing this is that a well located car lot will have a high footfall.
Not a perfect solution, but as cars aren't shiffting the sales man might be keen to coin in by selling your van.
Just a thought.

I am looking to sell my 2008 Abbey Spectrum 418as I have a new van ordered.
I have a price for part exchange from the dealer but this is lower than I would like, can any one recommend a good site to sale my van ?
We've just sold our 2006 Spectrum 540, for the asking price, and sold within 2 days of being advertised. We put it up for sale on our holiday park (Andrewshayes) who will sell on commission. This site has seasonal and touring pitches and the van was bought by one of their seasonal pitch holders. Is there not a site near you who will do the same?
