Have just bought myself a 1996 Freedom caravan and some previous owner has put screws into the sides (I know not what for - possibly to string a washing line) and these I find annoying. If I remove the screws what would be the best filler to use. They are too small to warrant a fibre mat of any kind.
I will no doubt be back with lots of other questions - but does anyone have a Freedom Prima Handbook - Freedom website is not very useful and I do not have any specifications on anything.
Reluctant move from tent to caravan due to finding tent difficult with old age problems!
hmmm, the screw holes wont take glass fiber putty, possibly try a wee bit of epoxy resin putty like Milliput or Devcon. will ask my mate tomorrow as he does smart repairs
sounds like Aeriel bracket holes.i would use a seam filler such as sikaflex 512 or 292.try to find a small vent to fit over the top and possibly use one of the holes to fix it.you can get filler from CAK TANKS 0870 757 2324 or for nearest stockest call 02476 466461.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
Some good suggestions there. I used to have a Microlite Prima about that age. Is it 3 berth? I don't have a handbook, IIRC the one that came with it wasn't very informative. The body hasn't changed at all so the dimensions and weights of current models as shown on the website for the Microlite are the same as yours will be:

They are cute little vans, I loved mine but sadly had to get something bigger as son grew too tall for comfort in it.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Thanks to all of you for replies. Alan 126 hadn't thought about Milliput have used it many years ago. Will be interested to hear what your mate has to advise.
Not aerial holes Michael - all on the side of the van and one each end. But worst of all are some ugly metal bracket - two to the left of the door at the base line and one to the left of the door at the top. Goodness knows what these were ever used for but they have mastic round and over them and I now see they have been pot rivetted I think so I may have to live with them as I would be reluctant to get someone to cut them off for me.
Thanks bordercaz - most useful and I suspectI shall be asking you a lot more questions! (it's a two berth by the way - just ideal for me and my Border Terrier!
Any questions just fire away. The staff at Freedom Caravans in Stoke (the importers)are very knowledgeable and helpful, if you get the right man when you call!
