Your car insurance covers the van whilst you are towing. You only need to insure the van itself if you feel it is worth the cost to replace. Of course once the van is disconnected from the car then it would not be covered for 3rd party damages to other peoples property if for instance it rolled down a hill and did some damage. I did not insure my first van as it was only worth about £500 and I know a number of people who have also not insured there low cost vans. Hope this helps.

My mum and dad used to have a monza 1200 when I was very little, was a 1982 I think. Not 100% though

I would def insure for 3rd party if nothing else.
If you tell us the serial number on the caravan,someone on here will be able to work out the age.

We have a Monza 380T and by chance tried to insure it a few days ago. They refused because it was being kept on the street outside our house.
As the value is similar to yours, we are now just going to leave it.
