Ok so we joined the caravan club in november and booked our main holidays back then before we had even bought our caravan ha ha! We are going to scotland and cumbria over 2 weeks.
But today i booked our first mini holidays with the club which consist of 3 weekends (1 in june and 2 in july) all quite close to home (hebden bridge, bury and skipton) so if we get stuck we have the in laws and some friends of ours, all keen caravanners who can pop to the site and help!
Very excited no just need somewhere for october and feb half term! then thats us sorted lol.
in scotland we are staying at Bunree and in Cumbria we are staying at Troutbeck Head. Both sites look stunning and so peaceful! i cant believe how inexpensive caravanning is, i mean i suppose you could go mad (god knows hubby had to reign me in when i saw the new 2009 vans at the dealers! all of a sudden £2000 was not our budget but i viewed it as more of a deposit ha ha he won though and we got our sprite) but anyway i digress...yes thats where were staying and i cant wait!
Hope you have a brilliant time we stayed at those sites in 2006, we were on a serviced pitch at Troutbeck Head which was OK, but the views were better from the bottom of the site where the un-serviced pitches were, and we coun't swap as it was fully booked.
As for Bunree it must be one of our all time favourite sites we have visited, we managed to get waterside pitch and it was idyllic despite the weather. Though it’s the first site we have encountered with traffic lights on its approach! We were just happy to sit in the caravan and enjoy the view.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
