hiya i was just about to go and buy a jml type halogen oven for my old adria optima that only has a hob and grill when someone suggested buying a mini oven instead. They suggested the belling one. Can any1 give me some advice on this. Are the mini ovens any good and would it be a better buy than the jml one?

Our van doesn't have an oven fitted either and we thought long and hard about alternatives.  In the end we went for a combi microwave/oven/grill from Panasonic.  One item, three uses and excellent it is too.  Used alongside a steamer we can have proper meals no bother.

Not cheap at £150 but definitely the solution for us.

We have an hinari mini oven it was £12 from Pound stretcher, it is great for pies etc. It isn`t very big but we manage with it as there are only 3 of us. I did notice that Oudoor world had one in there store last week for £25 and it was a fair bit bigger than ours. Could be worth a look.

I've got the Poundstretcher one, great for us as it's normally only me and son so we don't do roast dinners or anything, but I have seen folk cooking whole roast chickens & spuds etc in the halogen, so for a family I think it would be more useful.

Really sorry, but we bought one of those cheapy ovens (Wilkinsons) when we first got our van...was the biggest waste of time ever - can barely cook 2 individual pies, let alone something more substantial for a family.  Father in law has now fitted an oven, so can't wait to  check it out (going away with them, so any probs, they sort out!!!)

As for the Halogen ovens on the TV shopping channels, not tried those, so looking forward to reviews xx

We used a Tefal mini oven for about nine years, my wife cooked chops, a small chicken, chicken portions, liver and onions, baked fresh pies not all together of course ha ha. It did start to get a little slow so we bought one from Lidl when they were £19.99, it`s bigger has a timer and a fan which can be switched off if required, well worth £19.99 think the last time we saw them they were £24.99
