Hello, We are off to Tenby in June. Probably via M42 M5 Second Severn crossing, and M4. Can anybody please recomend any good places for a break? Either on M4 or just off it. Thank you.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
As Niall24 said dont go across the bridge on your way there its not worth it. The services just past swansea are ok. If thats too far then there are plenty of good laybys on the A40/449. There are plenty of places I think you will find.
On your way back go over the bridge because you dont pay to get out of Wales!
i argree with pargent man,m5-m50- a449,servive,s on 449 two miles after going through tunnel at monmouth also swansea west service on m4.
------------- its easy enough to be pleasant when the world rolls along like a song.but a man is worth while if he can smile when every thing goes f------ wrong.

When you say a break, are you looking for a nights stop over or somewhere for a cup of coffee?
There is an Asda on J32 of the M4, Cardiff if you want a coffe at non services prices.
Tredegar Park CC site in Newport, but not sure of the junction number, think it's 28, give or take 1 either way makes a nice stop over.
I agree with the M5, M50, A40, A449, M4 route. It's signposted this way for South Wales from the M5. On your return route, the severn bridge will be free, tolls only one way but I think it is further over the bridge anyway. The M4, Severn Bridge, M5 route is a better road though; the A roads between the M4 and M50 are ok, but there are a few roundabouts and sets of lights and you seem to be on there for ages. The M50 is not what I would call a motorway either, more like a good A road. The road from Carmarthen to Tenby is a bit iffy in places too.
There is a McDonalds just off the main road in Carmarthen with a huge overflow car park that is ideal if you are towing, we stopped there a few weeks ago on our way to Tenby.
Whilst in Tenby a visit to Folly Farm is highly recommended if you have little ones too. They also accept tesco club card points at 4 times their face value I am told.
If you have a BLUE DISABLED BADGE, just show that when you get to the bridge & you can come into WALES for free. Also at the end of the M4 there is services right on the roundabout & plenty of laybys after the motorway.
P.S. you will love TENBY we go there 2 or 3 times a year
