id personally just have told him to go forth soto speak.guy tried that with a car he bought of me.came to see it liked it paid the cash went screaming out the street heard him roaring out of sight .fones me 3 hours later saying car had broken down what was i going to do about it?b******r all i said due to the fact the engines probably melted by now as it was only a 1400cc not a ferrrari and i had 7 witnesses who seen the car being tortured as it left the street.so IMO the seller has been hard done by on this one.

That said however i wouldnt have entered a courtroom without a lawyer by my side.key part of the word is LAWyer

hi, i have sold a caravan on ebay, it was in good condition and serviced regularly the buyer got a bargain.

I feel that its up to the buyer to check the condition before bidding, and the seller should put that in the add when listing the item. With something like a caravan its impossible to list every single knock and dint.

Obviously if the problem is self evident then the seller should include that in his description or just sell the item spares or repairs.

hi, i have bought 3 cars off ebay and sold our last van which was sold for over 8k,

my advice is simple, ask the seller to list any problems with the caravan, dents, damp etc.

Then ask that if you win, can you pay a nominal deposit say £100 non returnable, so that you can confirm the van corresponds to the add before handing over the bulk of the cash.

I paid £8500 for a car from stratstone mercedes benz in wakefield, i was promised they would send the spare key on to me (12mths later) I am still waiting.

I have contacted consumer direct and trading standards but no luck, my advice is just that ebay is no different than any other way of buying an item, you can get ripped off whoever you buy off.

if you ever want a secondhand car, dont go to mercedes benz of west yorkshire.

if you buy off ebay ask loads of questions and dont forget to do a cris / hpi check
