Hi All

I wondered if anyone had found a solution to this problem.  We have reserved a seasonal pitch on a Forest Holidays Site (will run till October)  We have a 2008 Fleetwood Heritage (twin axle) and having spent most of the evening filling in online insurance quotes I am drawing a blank - and getting VERY frustrated!!!

We use 2 alko's, hitchlock and have theifbeater - but no proactive tracker.

We think the problem is because there is no barrier gate or 24 hour patrol on the site.

Is anyone else on a Forest type seasonal - and if so who/how did you get your insurance?

Can't speak to CC or CCC till tomorrow - their online quote systems don't give us a pricing.  We have had 1 quote from Caravanguard for this site - BUT they require a proactive tracker at £500 installation and £100 per year subscription!

Thanks

Trish

It would be best to give a few insurers a call instead, we couldnt find an online policy for our van that suited, but on phoning them I could get one that I wanted

I would imagine the CC will help, we couldn't use a wheel lock when it was in the compound as they were too close together but providing we used a hitch lock, they were fine with that.

I think OH has decided to bite the bullet and get the tracker fitted and go with caravanguard.  The tracker can't be a bad thing to have whoever we go with!  Will ring CC & CCC this morning too.

The site is in the New Forest - very remote - so I can't think it is a "bad" postcode - merely that it doesn't have any form of secure barrier in place - just a wooden rail and cones at night.  I will mention it to Forest Holidays as others of their sites we have stayed at when touring have had proper metal gates locked at night.

Thanks for advice

Trish

The CC dont care where its kept or what security devices are on as long as its reasonably secure and if you state you have a device it must be used. They are very good, I would reccomend them highly great with claims too. Wait til you speak to them the service is fantastic. We were insured with the C&CC and they were ok but not great.
