The corner legs are not strong enough to level the van, you may bend the chasis doing so. They are merely stablisers. Use ramps and the jockey wheel to level a caravan.
We use the ramps we had for the motorhome as well. (someone else gone back to caravanning like us??????) Don't use the legs to level the van. If you put them down and lift the corners of the van then it will rock and really annoy you. The floor will probably creak as well.
Just use them as steadies.
If you are on a CC site most of the pitches are level.
All this should be fun trying to level the van and put an alko lock on.
Do i leave the van on the car untill everything is leave so the car can do all the work or is it easy enough to just push and pull or jack the van up to put the ramps under?
I want my motorhome back!!
Never done caravaning just need more beds and space:)
You level the van side to side while its stil hitched to the car.
Once you are on your pitch, either reverse up the ramp or pull the van up the ramp until the side to side is level.
Then unhitch.
Then level the van front to back with the jockey wheel.
Finally extend the corner steady s until you feel them go tight as they touch the ground, otherwise you may twist the chassis.
We went from campervan to caravan and I was going to get rid of the ramps but I've needed them a few times. I'd say take them, definitely. And don't use the corner steadies to level the van. I've also got a few blocks of about 1" thick wood about 4" square to put under the corner steadies if I ever need them.
Don't suppose you will be at Blackpool c-club site tomorrow night? ;)
Thanks Niall
Unfortunately not....;) and do I need to stay of the M65 between 12:00 and 18:00??
One thing I would get is a couple of box's of stack-pads. these will help stop the steady s from sinking into the ground.
Reid Caravans have them, that's where I got mine.

Yes thats the one just staying friday and sat. to test the van and see what all this caravaning is about and if it is better than the motorhome
if anyone see's me with the 2 boys and the "Blonde babe magnet" please come and say hello and help!!!!!!
I have to confess that I cannot get the van on leveling ramps by towing it. By the time I get the hand brake on, it always seems to have dropped back a little bit or I drive right over the leveling block. I always "drive" the van up the levelling block with the motor mover, it is far more accurate and controllable.
