Hello everyone

We are in the Market  for  a new caravan, but after trawling through most of the caravan  forums   there seems   to be a consistant theme of Dealers/manufacturers  taking your money and  not  treating  people v fairly / sorting out problems quickly.

Obviously, I  assume there are some  people who are 100% happy ? But  most  of the  posts  raise defects / problems with their vans or maybe people who are happy with their new  vans don't post ?

To help us decide what  make vans and which dealers  to avoid / could  people  reply  with a very  brief descripion of their  van,, which  dealer  it can from ,  it's faults,   how long the fixes took  , if they feel  they  have been  treated well  by there  dealer  / Manufacturer.

Whilst I would like to buy British , I  have not seem  any  foreign  van faults being  listed on the forums , are they better built , do their dealers treat you better?

I suppose we just want to be sure   that  if  we buy a  van that  develops  small  faults  they will be  fixed quicky  , but  if  we were sold a  van that had a  major  problem  we  will not  have to go though   "the tales of woe  ",   like i have  seem  unfolding on these forums

What about asking people who they can recommend, there are two dealers we would not go back for caravans to but I wouldn't want to name them as we may have been unlucky, and in fairness that was a couple of years ago and they may have changed.

We've ordered a new 'van from our most local dealer so can't yet comment on their after sales but i would recommend using your local dealer so that if there are problems or when it comes round to the annual service you don't have so far to go.

Also take a look around all the dealers to see what they offer with their caravans.  We looked at 2 others and the one furthest away was offering a really good starter pack so we asked the other 2 if they would match, which they would, and our local dealer threw in a few other things too when we came to order from him.

Before ordering i asked on here what their service was like but got no replies lol.  Maybe you could do the same?

Good Luck with your search...
