I've tried all the main PAYG dongles and found they all have their own pro's and con's; coverage, varying services etc. If it's only something you want to try though, you might be interested in this site here where you can get a free 3 dongle for the price of P&P - don't have much to loose if no good. The firm is genuine, they're acting agents for 3 (in law just received one from them).
A guy on ebay is selling these for £9.99 free p & p, I bought one earlier, I should have checked on here first.
