Hi - another question

When I am running my new caravan on 12 volts (Elddis Slipstream 1997), do the regular power sockets still work? If I want to to run a 240v appliance will I need an inverter thingy to convert the 12v to 240v? Assuming the sockets do work, does anyone know of one that runs from a regular socket with a regular socket output?

Sorry for the stupid questions, and thanks for your help!

Ian

no question is silly Ian ...

No 240v sockets will work unless you are on mains hookup or you have power to the caravan via a generator ...you can use and inverter but you have to watch the wattage and only run low powered appliences from the inverter or it will blow out.   inverters also drain your battery pretty quick too.

hope this helps

OK - so where do I plug 12v appliances in?? There is a sort of 2 pin socket that says 12v. What sort of plug do I need to use that to use items with 9v - 12v inputs (i.e. radio etc).

Alternatively, could anyone suggest a DAB radio with iPOD dock (or phono inputs to play the iPOD through) that runs off a 12v socket?

Thanks!!!

hi, your local caravan dealer will have the two pin plug you require you can also get

them with a short length of cable and a power socket (car ciggie type) on the end

for tv etc.
